Emma Leach & Natasha Vicars - Kube - Poole
"I love newspapers" said Emma Leach at the lauch of their (she and Natasha Vicars') 'newspaper', the result of a three day residency at Kube gallery in Poole. They both have an interest in reportage, and asked local reporters to write about topics that they had assigned them.
We talked about The Media/ Art Identity Crisis, and Emma was upset to think that newspapers might change, with the effect of computing and the internet. What was the work about, though, if not the changing state of newspapers?
Their newspaper focussed on the three days they spent in Poole, and the articles they 'commissioned' from the actual journalists gave an insight into the journalist's personal lives and views.
